It was only a matter of time until Juventus signed Mario Mandžukic.
The winger was one of the brightest prospects in Serie A last season and it seemed certain that he would make the step up to the first team this term.
But the 28-year-old is not going anywhere.
Mandżukic, who is on the books at Juventus for €15m, has not played for the club since the first half of the 2016/17 season and will be free to leave this summer.
It is now the manager’s job to decide whether he wants to keep the Croatian or sell him.
It seems to be a difficult decision for him, who has never played for a Serie A club, but the club have been adamant that they do not want to sell.
It may be that MandŽukic does not want the chance to leave Juventus but he wants out.
It’s not like he has a choice.
He is the best young player in the world.
The next season would be the last one.
Juventus will have to pay €15 million for him.
But what would the future hold for MandŻukic?
Would he want to stay at Juventus?
Would his agent be happy to pay the rest of the money to sign him?
Would the players at Juventus like him more?
MandŠukic’s agent, Paolo Brescia, is adamant that the player will stay at the club.
“Mario is a great player.
We are delighted to have him here.
He was very, very happy to leave Roma.
He wants to come to Juventus.
It would be a very difficult decision to take.
But we are happy that Mario has decided to join Juventus and will play in the first division next season.”
So why would Juventus make such a decision?
It is easy to say that it’s a business decision and that the money will be paid to the player.
But Brescias also says that the signing of Mandśukic is a big deal for Juventus.
“It is a major signing for Juventus and it will bring a lot of positive things to the team.
He will be a great asset to the club and will strengthen the team.”
He goes on to say, “We are happy with the move and we hope that Mario will be happy here.”
He is referring to the €15million signing fee that Juventus paid for Mandiz.
What the future holds for Mario Mandziukic will not be decided for a few months but will be decided after the summer transfer window closes.
It will be interesting to see what happens with MandŲkic and if the players and coaches at the Giuseppe Meazza will want him to stay.
